Aderonke Foundation is on a mission to raise a new generation of Nigerian citizens and leaders who are ethical, competent and are focused on improving their communities through service. We do this through four core programs:
● Literacy – All Nigeria Reads
● Leadership Development – Children’s Leadership Initiative
● Technology Training – Tech Savvy Nigeria
● Educating out of school children – Free Schools Nigeria
At All Nigerian Reads, we believe that literacy has the power to expand horizons and change lives for the better. We believe that every Nigerian child deserves to be taught to read and we are on a mission do just that. Our vision at All Nigeria Reads is simple; we work tirelessly for the day when every neighborhood across the country boasts of a free library/reading room for children, every able child has the ability to read or is actively developing it, and the love for and value of reading is embraced in every home. This program boasts of almost 100 library and learning center locations across 28 states.
At Tech Savvy Nigeria, we believe digital literacy is a minimum standard for every Nigerian Child. Our number one goal is to ensure that every Nigerian child is aware of what a computer is and is also able to effectively use a computer. To date, we have over 5,000 children in the technology Program.
The Children's Leadership Initiative is dedicated to the development of child leaders who will be well prepared to lead private and governmental organizations ethically, effectively and with a spirit of service. The organization is focused on developing a new generation of leaders through various programs and resources. This past year alone, the program has taught over 50,000 children across 1800+ schools. For the purposes of this Library Field Day Program, the children from All Nigeria Reads will participate in the pilot program and the instructors from Tech Savvy Nigeria and the Children’s Leadership Initiative will lead the workshops at your library.
Our newest program Free Schools Nigeria is a direct response to the 20million out of school children and the urgent need to do something about it. In addition to our advocacy for government intervention, we have recently launched this program to provide 2 hours of baic education to out of school children. We realize the criticality of now and the heightened security risk that looms when such a large number of youth are uneducated; it is with this in mind that we have developed this program to at least engage as many of these youth as possible.
